New homes built in Weston Super Mare

with free hot water

The sun shone 1000 KWhrs of energy on every horizontal square meter of Weston-Super-Mare this last year (and next!)

Solar heated water is just one of the many advantages enjoyed by residents who moved into new homes built by Stonecraft of Weston Super Mare, on a brown-field site in Langton Rd, Weston Super Mare.

Planning Officers required the developers to meet new “Sustainability Code 4” Standards. This got Nick Dodd & business partner Steve White thinking about how else they could improve the building project.

Six new, super-insulated, timber-framed, modular brick clad, cottages were built to provide 3 bedroom homes with attractive kitchens and bathrooms with high pressure showers “to die for”.

An ecological solution was provided by the UK office of Westech Solar International, who offered and provided a unique controller that fully integrates the solar collector with an economy 7 immersion heater for the days when there is insufficient light to fully heat the 55 gallon hot water cylinder in each home.

“Today’s solar technology is stunning” explained Nick Dodd who has now launched the company “Solar Craft of Weston-Super-Mare” in Somerset to install solar hot water into new and existing homes in Weston Super Mare, that need to reduce summer hot water bills to zero.

A typical solar water heating system can cost thousands to install but adds real value to your property investment.
